Having worked as a Management Accountant for 11 years I have pretty much used Excel every day over that period – not only in my day job, but at home for my personal banking records, packing lists, diary, holiday planner and I even had a whole workbook dedicated to planning our wedding.
One of my colleagues once bought me an “I ❤ Spreadsheets” mug as a Secret Santa gift and it was one of the most apt presents I could have asked for – it is true, I love a spreadsheet!
And what’s more, I actually love teaching it to other people, from the very basics to some of the more advanced tips and tricks I have learnt. It brings me a huge amount of satisfaction to know that sharing even just a small bit of information can mean that someone can perform a task they never could before, or do something so much quicker than they could previously.
